Tragic: Fox News Contributor Dies Following Hidden Battle With Cancer

Dr. Kelly Powers, a prominent medical contributor for Fox News and a respected surgeon, has tragically passed away at the age of 45. She died on Sunday in New Jersey after a long and courageous battle with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive and deadly forms of brain cancer.

Born on May 13, 1979, in Yonkers, New York, Dr. Powers built an exceptional career grounded in both medical excellence and public communication. She held degrees from Baruch College, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and the University of San Francisco.

Her dedication to medicine was matched by her passion for sharing knowledge. She completed rigorous residencies at Georgetown and Boston University, ultimately becoming a sought-after voice on public health matters. Her calm authority made her a familiar face on Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, and CBS.

In 2020, Dr. Powers collapsed live on air during a segment about heart health. That unexpected event led to a devastating diagnosis: glioblastoma. She called the moment “unreal,” but it marked the beginning of a battle she fought with strength and grace.

Even as she underwent three brain surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, Dr. Powers found joy amid hardship. In a moment that defied the odds, she welcomed a son, Bennett, during her recovery. She often joked about having matching haircuts with him due to her treatments, referring to herself as “the luckiest unlucky girl.”

When her cancer returned in 2024, a wave of love and support poured in. Friends, colleagues, and fans raised nearly $100,000 to help her pursue experimental treatments, showing how deeply she had touched people’s lives.

Dr. Powers is survived by her loving husband, Steven Doll, and their young son, Bennett. Her family described her as “a brave and beautiful soul,” and her memory continues to inspire many.

Visitation for Dr. Powers will be held on Thursday, followed by a funeral service on Friday at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank, New Jersey. Her life and legacy—marked by compassion, resilience, and brilliance—leave an indelible mark on all who knew her.
