2 Popular shampoo recalled over d3adly bacteria risk

A product marked with lot number 1G27542266 and UPC code 7501438375850 has been the subject of a recent health alert. Authorities have identified contamination concerns related to this item, prompting a recall.

The bacterium Klebsiella oxytoca has been found associated with the product. This microorganism is generally harmless when it remains confined to the intestinal tract. However, it can become dangerous if it enters the bloodstream or other parts of the body.

In such cases, Klebsiella oxytoca can cause serious infections, including pneumonia. These infections can be severe and potentially fatal, with death rates ranging from 10 to 20 percent among affected individuals.

People with weakened immune systems are especially vulnerable to these infections. They face a higher risk of severe complications if exposed to the bacteria outside the gut.

Henkel, the company involved, has stressed that no injuries or illnesses have been reported so far related to the contaminated product. Despite this, they have taken precautionary measures to protect consumers.

The recall has been classified as Class II, which means that while serious health effects are unlikely, they remain possible. This level of recall calls for prompt attention but is not an emergency level alert.

Consumers are strongly advised to stop using the affected product immediately. They should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund to avoid any potential health risks.

Anyone who has used the product and experiences symptoms or has health concerns is encouraged to seek medical advice without delay.
